All about Gutta Percha Points
In the dentistry world, gutta percha points or gp points is used in dental treatment. Dentists mostly prefer to use gutta percha as root filling material in dental treatment. They are designed with self-sterilizing ability and are easy to manage in placing & removing them from the root canal of the teeth.
Dentists make use of a root canal sealer, a viscous material for coating the gutta percha points. This sealer plays an important role in providing a tight seal for the root canal and prevents bacteria from entering the root canal system of the teeth. Dentistry professionals use resin based & zinc oxide eugenol sealers for the tight sealing of the root canal.
With a traditional method of introducing gutta percha into the root canal, trapped air or excess sealer can give rise to major problems. It simply means that the outcome of the dental treatment was not as successful as expected. When using gp points, there is no such guarantee that the sealer will be introduced into the dentine tubules and will offer complete occlusion. It does not either guarantee that it will prevent the fluids & germs from entering the root canal. Thus, this problem can be solved with gutta percha points designed with superior qualities.
